5 displaced after home fire in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Five people were displaced as a result of a home fire in Fresno, the Fresno Fire Department said.

Firefighters with the Fresno and Clovis fire departments responded to the 6200 block of E. Sussex Way around 4 p.m. Monday after receiving reports of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, crews found a single-story home with smoke and flames visible. Images shared by the Fresno Fire Department show heavy black smoke coming mainly from the home’s garage.

Fresno Fire says neighbors had alerted the residents to the fire which allowed them to safely get out of the home. They extinguished the fire, but five people ended up displaced as a result.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
