‘Small’ fire displaces 9 people in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno County Fire is actively investigating a fire that displaced nine people, including two children, on Saturday.

According to Cal Fire, they responded to the 22000 block of Cedar Street outside of Laton after receiving reports of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, responding crews reported light smoke coming from the front of the home. A “small” fire was eventually located in the attic space and was quickly extinguished.

Firefighters say that while no one was injured, seven adults and two children were displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
