According to the United States Attorney’s Office, 48-year-old David Lopez-Guillen was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison for reentering the United States after previously being deported or removed.
The office said on April 14, 2022, Lopez-Guillen was found in Russell County after being denied admission, excluded, deported, and removed from the United States three times, around Jan. 19, 2001, April 25, 2005, and Aug. 31, 2020
Reportedly, this is Lopez-Guillen’s second conviction in the Western District of Kentucky for illegal reentry.
After his release from prison, Lopez-Guillen will be on supervised release for 3 years.
The United States Attorney’s Office said the case was sentenced under Operation Take Back America.
A memorandum sent to U.S. Department of Justice employees on March 6 states the operation is focused on “Repelling The Invasion Of Illegal Immigration.”
