Carmel provides schedule for spring infrastructure projects

CARMEL, Ind. — As Central Indiana continues through spring, the city of Carmel recently provided its schedule for infrastructure projects will begin in the spring.

According to a news release from the city of Carmel, the 2025 infrastructure projects include traffic flow improvements, roadway enhancements and upgrades to pedestrian safety.

“Prioritizing the safety and efficiency of our transportation network is paramount,” City Engineer Bradley Pease said in the release. “The current road and bridge projects are essential to meeting the evolving needs of Carmel. We appreciate the public’s understanding during construction and are confident these improvements will create a safer, more efficient travel experience for everyone.”

Some of the featured projects include:

  • College Avenue reconstruction
    • Officials said the first phase of this project is underway, with a full closure at 96th Street and College Avenue planned for May.

    • Periodic closures are expected to occur in May for crane operations. Construction is expected to be completed in October.
  • Main Street reconstruction
    • Beginning on or after May 27, Main Street will undergo reconstruction from Old Meridian Street to Guilford Road. Brief closures are expected to occur, but local access will be maintained.
