The heavy floodwaters have resulted in an area railroad bridge getting washed out. According to a report from KYTV/KSPR, BNSF Railways reports the bridge at Mammoth Spring was destroyed early Saturday morning.
A train was reportedly stopped on the bridge around 1:30 Saturday morning due to several weather warnings in the area. BNSF states the floodwaters washed out the bridge, and several cars were derailed. No injuries were reported.
Personnel from BNSF and Mammoth Spring State Park are working to clear the railroad cars and repair the bridge.
