
Deputies arrested Markentae Williams, 24, of Ville Platte and Johnathan Williams, 38, of Opelousas on March 18, authorities said.
Authorities said through the investigation they became aware a firearm was located under the passenger seat and narcotics were in the vehicle.
During the seach, authorities said they discovered a Glock 43 9mm, 6.95 grams of marijuana, 30.39 grams of synthetic marijuana,113.55 grams Methamphetamine, a digital scale and 5 pills of ecstasy.
Markentae Williams was charged with the following: one count of resisting an officer by providing false name, one count of possession of a firearm in the presence of drugs , one count of possession of synthetic marijuana with intent to distribute , one count of possession of ecstasy, one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and one count introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility.
Authorities said they later learned Markentae Williams was a wanted subject from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office for the charges of Attempted First-Degree Murder and Armed Robbery.
No bond information has been released.
Johnathan Williams was charged with the following: one count resisting an officer by providing false name, one count illegal possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies, one count possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, one count of possession of synthetic marijuana with intent to distribute , one count of possession of ecstasy and one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
Johnathan Williams bond is set at $183,750, authorities said.
