Several taken to hospital after fire in North Side apartment

CHICAGO — Emergency crews on are on the scene of a fire on the city’s North Side.

The extra alarm fire broke out in the 400 block of North Kenmore around 12:45 p.m. By 1:45 p.m. the Chicago Fire Department said the fire was out.

Initial reports indicate the fire started on the fourth floor.

The Chicago Fire Department says multiple people had to be rescued from the building. CFD also said multiple people were taken to the hospital. It is unclear at this time the extent of their injuries.
