Mel Coleman gives update following storm-related outages

As the area begins assessing damages caused by the Wednesday afternoon storms, power outages are starting to pop up as crews are hard at work restoring power to residents affected.

KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot News reached out to North Arkansas Electric Cooperative (NAEC) Chief Executive Officer Mel Coleman to get the latest update on damages and restoration following Wednesday’s storms. Coleman says crews are active fighting damage caused by lightening and winds.

When asked about his concerns regarding the forecasted heavy showers leading into Sunday, Coleman says heavy rains mixed with strong winds are a concern but NAEC will be monitoring conditions as they develop and crew will be ready to restore power outages as quickly as possible in the conditions.
