The train was headed to Atlantic City and struck the car around 8:19 p.m. at the Pomona Road Crossing. Reports indicate the car became stuck on the tracks and the driver jumped out of his vehicle moments before the crash. Thirty-three passengers and crew members were on board at the time. No injuries were reported, including the driver of the car.
The New Jersey Transit Atlantic City Rail line departed from Philadelphia around 7 p.m. before the crash. The line was delayed for a time, but continued service shortly after.
The crash is currently under investigation.
