“All Clear” given by police, shelter-in-place lifted at Stockton University after shooting off-campus

GALLOWAY TWP., N.J. (WPHL) — Stockton University was under a shelter-in-place order after a shooting near its campus on Thursday afternoon.

In a 4:03 p.m. update, an “All Clear” was issued by Stockton Police, lifting the shelter-in-place order. All classes and activities are canceled at all Stockton campuses for the rest of the day, with a regular schedule resuming on Friday.

According to the Galloway Township Police Department, a shooting happened just before 1 p.m. on W. Jimmie Leeds Road near Redwood Avenue. One person was hurt and taken to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center City Division for treatment.

In an alert, Stockton University said the suspect vehicle is a white Honda CR-V. The alert also said Galloway Township Police are looking for two suspects, and the suspect passenger is a white male with a green shirt and long blond hair.

Stockton University said a police presence remains on campus..
