IMPD: 1 dead after near northeast side double shooting

INDIANAPOLIS — One person is dead after a Tuesday morning double shooting on the near northeast side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

At around 9:39 a.m. on Tuesday, IMPD north district officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 3600 block of Ralston Avenue.

When officers arrived, they reportedly located two people at the scene who had been shot. Both individuals were transported to area hospitals. One of the individuals was first reported to be in critical condition but was later pronounced dead. The other person who was shot was reported to be in stable condition.

IMPD officials on the scene said that a disturbance between family members reportedly led to shots being fired inside a home. Officials said that one person was detained at the scene, but they stressed that their role has not yet been determined.
