Gov. Landry appoints former Bossier City councilman to regional rural development office

CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – There is a new focus on north Louisiana under Governor Jeff Landry’s office.

Governor Landry appointed Shane Cheatham the Regional Director for the Office of Rural Development. Cheatman previously served on the Bossier City Council and the Bossier Parish School Board.

He addressed the Caddo Commission on Monday, telling commissioners he was told by Governor Landry to communicate the needs of north Louisiana to better serve the region.

“One of my goals is to get Caddo and Bossier Parish to work together so we can draw down some of that federal funding,” Cheatham said.

Once the session gets underway in two weeks, commissioners will have the chance to meet with Governor Landry and the state legislature for “Caddo Day.”
