Woman found with severe injuries in Yosemite later dies, NPS says

YOSEMITE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The National Park Service (NPS) is actively investigating the death of a woman who was found severely injured in Yosemite Valley.

On March 20, NPS says law enforcement rangers and rescue personnel responded to a report of a medical emergency at concessioner housing in Yosemite Valley.

Park officials say a 34-year-old woman from Fresno was found with severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital in Fresno.

NPS says the woman, who was an employee of Yosemite Hospitality, eventually succumbed to her injuries on March 21.

The woman’s identity has not been released.

The NPS Investigative Services Branch, along with the Fresno County Coroner’s Office and the FBI, are actively investigating the circumstances leading up to her death.
