According to the Freeport Police Department, on Tuesday, March 25th, at 2:04 a.m., shots were fired in the area of Ringold Street and Winnebago Avenue.
Investigators said no one was injured in the shooting, but evidence pointed to the identification of a suspect: Lorenzo Flores, 25.
Authorities said Flores’ vehicle was used in the crime.
On Friday, March 28th, at 3:06 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Flores and took him into custody. A subsequent search of his home, in the 600 block of N. Winnebago, yielded the firearm and drugs.
Flores has been charged with Reckless Discharge of a Fireram, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Possession with Intent to Deliver Cannabis.
He was booked into the Stephenson County Jail pending the outcome of a detention hearing.
