A new report from the National Weather Service (NWS) shows much of Arkansas under an enhanced threat for severe weather Sunday afternoon into evening.Through the week the NWS had felt strongly that the threat would remain in south eastern Arkansas but as of Friday morning models show must of the state now at risk including the Twin Lakes area. One factor they are watching is if a cap of dry air erodes on Sunday. If the cap can be broken, all modes of severe weather are possible including large hail, damaging winds and even tornadoes.
Modeling is still inconsistent at this time on exact timing and locations for possible outbreaks. The NWS urges residents to stay weather aware this weekend as they continue to develop a more concise forecast.
Following Sunday, the NWS is also keeping an eye on the possibility of severe weather developing Wednesday of next week.
