Trio indicted for the murders of two cousins at Cross Lake Apartments

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Three individuals have been formally indicted on murder charges for their alleged role in the deaths of two cousins.

Alissa Rogers, 19, and 21-year-olds Deaiviantae Davis and Rufus Anderson are each charged with two counts of second-degree murder, according to the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office.

The Caddo Parish Grand Jury returned three true bills on Tuesday, indicting the trio for the alleged murders of Tristavian and Jakeva Datcher, both age 21, on December 27, 2024.

According to Shreveport Police, that night officers responded to a reported shooting at the Cross Lake Apartments on Lakeshore Drive

just before 10:30 p.m.

When they arrived, investigators found Tristavian suffering from a gunshot wound and started rendering life-saving care. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health Hospital, where he died at 11 p.m.

His cousin, Jakeva, was found by officers deceased in the backseat of an SUV along Curtis Lane. She sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 10:36 p.m.

According to the Caddo Parish Coroner, both victims were shot at the same time in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

Homicide detectives learned through their investigation that the victims reportedly had engaged in a narcotics transaction at the Cross Lake Apartments at the time of the shooting.

Rogers, Davis, and Anderson are all being held at the Caddo Correctional Center on $1 million bonds.
