RISE Shreveport to host upcoming ‘Run to Your Health 5K’

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – RISE Shreveport is gearing up to host the Run to Your Health 5K & Health Empowerment Fair on Saturday, March 29th at Bill Cockrell Park.

This free community event promotes holistic wellness, resilience, and personal growth through fitness, education, and empowerment.

The day starts with a 5K run at 7 a.m. and a workout session at 9 a.m. Attendees can also participate in a sweat session with Jessica Shaw at 10 a.m., line dancing with Stephanie at 11 a.m., and a title boxing session at noon. Additionally, a health fair and job fair will provide valuable resources and opportunities for community members.

“I’m encouraging everybody to fight for you for yourself, no matter what happens, no matter if your marriage is hard, no matter if your kids are bad, no matter if you’re failing at something, change your perception and say, ‘Hey, I can get through this. I will get through this. Life is going to happen to me, but it’s all about how I take it in stride,” said Demarkus Webb, Founder of Rise Shreveport. “I’m encouraging everyone right now that no matter what’s going on, to fight for you, to become healthy holistically, and RISE to the top.”

RISE Shreveport emphasizes the “Fight for You” movement, encouraging individuals to push through life’s obstacles and prioritize their well-being.
