BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Thanks to an increase in crawfish supply, prices have gone down in Louisiana! Average prices are the lowest so far in the 2025 crawfish season, The Crawfish App reported Friday.
“There was a quarter per pound drop at the crawfish docks this week, and retailers responded with an exact $.25 cents per pound drop at the consumer level,” Laney King, co-founder of The Crawfish App, said.
How much you could pay this weekend:
- $3.64 per pound for live crawfish
- $6.08 per pound for boiled crawfish
“The start of April marks the historical true start of the heart of crawfish season — weather is mild, crawfish are plentiful and a good size, and prices typically continue to come down, at least until Easter weekend!” King said.
This makes two weeks in a row that crawfish prices have gone down in the state.
