U.S. Army introduces interactive STEM tech to students in Louisiana

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The U.S. Army is introducing interactive STEM technology to high school students in the greater Shreveport area.

The Army is exposing students to its interactive STEM education ahead of the Barksdale Defenders of Liberty Air Show, a full-weekend event showcasing both modern and historic military and civilian aircraft. The Army brought a mobile STEM vehicle for students to try out some of its technology. The intent was to demonstrate the vast STEM careers offered

by the Army to students and working adults.

“The Army utilizes the latest technologies and scientific advancements to gain advantages on the battlefield,” said Captain Edwin Medina, Commander of the Shreveport Army Recruiting Company. “The same technologies and sciences are later applied in various jobs within the American workforce. Our soldiers who acquire these technological and scientific skills become competitive candidates for employment, whether while they serve or after completing their service.”

The STEM trailer will be at the Barksale Defenders of Liberty Air Show on Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
