Shreveport Police Department searching for runaway child

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)—The Shreveport Police Department is searching for a missing 10-year-old runaway.

Police report that 10-year-old Josiah Bates ran away from Westwood Elementary School after classes were dismissed on Wednesday, March 26. Josiah is described as a Black male, standing 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 80 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue skull cap, a blue jacket, a purple and gold LeBron Lakers jersey, blue jeans, and white shoes. He was also carrying a white backpack with SpongeBob designs.

Police want to remind people that harboring a runaway child is a crime. If you have seen Josiah or have information on his whereabouts, contact the Shreveport Police Department at (318) 673-7300 immediately.
