KTLO News spoke with Police Chief John Spence ahead of the meeting and he said that while passage of the budget is needed, he is concerned about the cuts his department is being asked to make.
Flippin Mayor Heath Hogan also spoke with KTLO News and he states that the city council is having to take a broader look at the city’s financial situation and the Police Department is not the only department facing cutbacks.

Last year a ballot measure was passed by voters to adopt a 1% local sales and use tax within the City of Flippin to benefit Police and Fire departments. Chief Spence says the full effects of that tax are yet to be felt for the two departments.

Mayor Hogan says time will be allotted for public comment in accordance with meeting protocols. The other item on the agenda involves the discussion of a new business license ordinance. The meeting will be held at 6 at Flippin City Hall.
