Man arrested in connection to stabbing death at Portland hotel

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities have arrested the man accused of stabbing another man to death in a Parkrose neighborhood hotel on March 21. 

Portland police arrested 42-year-old Mitch Schoonover on charges of first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and third-degree assault.

Officers found Drew Hayden Courtright, 26, dead when they arrived at the hotel near 11700 NE Airport Way on Friday morning. Schooner was not at the scene at the time.

A medical examiner determined Courtright had died from homicide by stab wound.
