Storms could return again this weekend!
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) –  While rain is expected to develop over part of the ArkLaTex on Tuesday night and Wednesday, it’s doubtful that we will have any issues with severe weather.  Our next best chance of strong to severe storms COULD come on Sunday.

Threat not set in stone: There are some uncertainties in how Sunday’s storms could play out.  A lot will depend on where the storms develop.  As of right now, it appears that the best chance of severe weather will be over the southeastern half of the area in E TX, and NW LA.  There seems to be decent model agreement that this is where Sunday’s storms will form.  However, you can see in the map above that we will have plenty of instability over ALL of our area.  Consequently, we will have to watch model trends in the days leading up to the weekend. If we do see severe storms develop, all threats will be possible including tornadoes.

How much rain?  Believe it or not, much of the ArkLaTex has received below-normal rainfall for the first three months of 2025.  Much of the area could use some rain.  While it appears that we will get some with the many disturbances headed our way.  The latest outlook from WPC for the next 7 days is a bit drier than previous outlooks. The Blend of Models shows that most of the area could see close to 1″.
