Man shot, killed Monday morning in Englewood

CHICAGO – A man was shot and killed Monday morning in Englewood.

Chicago police said the shooting happened at around 11 a.m. in the 6600 block of South Sangamon Street.

A 42-year-old man was inside a vehicle when an unknown suspect approached him. The suspect then pulled out a handgun and fired shots, hitting the victim multiple times, according to investigators.

Police said the victim was taken to University of Chicago Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made and area detectives are investigating.
