Delta Air Lines unveils 2025 trading cards to celebrate 100 years

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Trading card collectors and aviation fanatics will soon have an exclusive set of cards to begin collecting on Delta Air Lines flights this year.

As part of its centennial celebrations, Delta is releasing a “centennial-themed’ collection of its viral trading cards. The airline said the cards have a “fresh, eye-catching design” that features new colors and branding to help celebrate Delta’s 100th anniversary.

Delta Air Lines went viral in 2023 for its line of trading cards after one TikTok user showcased his collection. Delta said it has been producing trading cards since 2003 when it released a limited edition MD-11 card in honor of the aircraft’s retirement in 2004. Since then, the collection of trading cards has expanded to include seven series and 68 unique cards.

Each card represents a different aircraft from Delta’s mainline or Delta Connection fleets and includes aircraft stats on the back.

“Delta pilots have handed out millions of trading cards over the past 22 years, with over 3 million distributed in 2024 alone,” said Ryan Gumm, the Senior Vice President of Flight Operations for Delta. “This simple, yet impactful interaction between our pilots and customers elevates and enriches the flight experience – and has created meaningful connections and memorable moments along the way.”

The centennial set – debuting on March 25 – will include cards for the A220-300, 717, 737-800, A321NEO, 757-200, 767-300, A330-900 and the A350. Customers flying on Delta Connection flights will be able to receive cards showcasing the CRJ-900 and E175, depending on the carrier.

Due to the anticipated popularity of the trading cards, Delta officials said the company is producing more than 5 million cards to be handed out to customers on Delta flights.

Don’t fly often? There is still a way for you to get a hold of some trading cards.

For the first time since launching its own trading card series, Delta Airlines is offering a commemorative gift set of cards featuring two limited-edition centennial livery trading cards. The gift set of cards is available to customers who purchase a physical Delta Air Lines gift card starting in April.
