Rockford Police bust fentanyl trafficking network, arrest three

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Three men have been arrested, and a fourth wanted by Rockford police, as part of an investigation into fentanyl trafficking in the city.

Rockford Police said the investigation took place over the past few months and culminated in raids on three properties, in the 300 block of Cameron Avenue, the 500 block of South 5th Street, and the 4000 block of Louisiana Road.

Drew Yancy, 22, has been charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl and Unlawful Calculated Criminal Drug Conspiracy.

Miccah Simmons, 22, has been charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl, Unlawful Calculated Criminal Drug Conspiracy, and Possession of Cocaine.

David Chapman, 57, has been charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Calculated Criminal Drug Conspiracy, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl.

Police are searching for Trayvon Wilder, 24, on charges of Unlawful Calculated Criminal Drug Conspiracy.

Authorities with the Rockford Police Department said the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the operation.
