Operation Clean Sweep shows great success in Bossier Parish

BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Nearly 600 volunteers participated in Operation Clean Sweep on Saturday, a community-wide cleanup event in Bossier Parish.

According to a press release, over 400 bags of trash were collected thanks to the efforts of local residents and volunteers. Those participating also removed tens of thousands of pounds of old household goods, appliances, and other utilities that had accumulated in various areas.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated in Operation Clean Sweep,” said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington. “This program would not have been possible without the energy, time, and enthusiasm of our cohosts at Bossier City, the Bossier Parish Police Jury, and especially our sponsors and volunteers. The results speak for themselves – the community is cleaner and healthier, and we are proud of what we accomplished together.”
