No. 1 LSU-Shreveport continues dominance with weekend sweep over LSU-Alexandria

SHREVEPORT, LA (KTAL/KMSS) — After a 14-1 victory over LSU-Alexandria on Friday, the LSU-Shreveport baseball team put on a similar performance on Saturday’s double header, winning 11-3 in the first game and 10-3 in the second.

In the first game of the day, LSU-A got the first run on the board in the top of the first, but the Pilots quickly straightened things out, with their bats coming alive in the bottom of the second when the Pilots put up five runs.

The Generals put up a run in both the fourth and seventh innings but the Pilots had already gone beyond that for the victory.

In the second game, LSU-Shreveport kept the Generals scoreless until the top of the sixth, at which point the Pilots had already accumulated nine runs.

With the two victories on Saturday, LSU-Shreveport continues to build onto its blemish-free record, now 29-0. The Pilots also remain at the top of the NAIA poll, this week receiving all 19 first-place votes.

The Pilots play next on Tuesday, when they host Texas Wesleyan at Pilot Field. First pitch is set for 2 pm.
