As of late Friday night, the wild brush fires in Douglas County are fully contained. Just after 11:30, a Facebook post from the Squires Volunteer Fire Department stated the last of its crew returned home from the blaze in the Spicewood Hollow area off Missouri Route N.

The department is reminding residents the weather is still dry. While the winds are not expected to be as strong, outdoor burning is strongly advised against.

The department is estimating the size of the recent fire to have been approximately 1,200 acres.
