Winnebago County State’s Attorney J. Hanley said Friday that the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into Hancock on May 2nd, 2023, after receiving information accusing him of repeated sex assaults that happened between June and December 2022.
Hanley said Hancock, a registered sex offender from a prior conviction, was living in the same residence as the victim at the time.
He faces up to 60 years in prison at his sentencing, which will take place on May 2nd, 2025.
