According to officials, on March 12, a School Resource Officer took a complaint from school officials about suspected child abuse involving a student and a teacher at a local school. The SRO took the initial report, and officials were assigned the case for further investigation.
Due to the sensitive nature of this investigation, officials contacted the Children’s Advocacy Center for their assistance in conducting a forensic interview of the victim.
From their investigation, officials were able to establish probable cause to arrest Hoosier on one count of cruelty to juveniles.
As the investigation continued, officials said they located more evidence of other incidents of the alleged child abuse with the same child. Officials secured evidence for two more counts of cruelty to juveniles against Hoosier.
Today, Hoosier was sent to a Rapides Parish. Hoosier was booked into a Rapides Parish jail.
Hoosier remains in jail at this time and is being held on a $3,000 bond.
