One person killed in Leake County crash

LEAKE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – One person has died after a crash on Highway 16 in Leake County.

The crash occurred on Highway 16 East near Indian Branch Road on March 20, according to Breezy News.

According to officials, two people were trapped in the vehicle and had to be freed. Authorities said Sonya Nunn, 36, of Preston, died at the scene, and the second victim was transported to a Jackson hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
