By rssfeeds-admin Jordan St. Clair Clark, 28, was convicted on one count each of attempted second-degree murder and illegal discharge of a firearm – crime of violence.
The Iberville Parish District Attorney’s Offices stated that a 17-year-old girl was hospitalized for nearly two weeks after Clark fired 10 shots at her on March 13, 2021. The weapon was reportedly never found. The victim told detectives she believed that the shots fired were meant for someone else near her.
Clark turned himself in to law enforcement on April 7, 2021.
“We have said many times that violence will not be tolerated in our community,” DA Tony Clayton said. “This shooting impacted numerous families, and this 17-year-old, who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, will have to live with the horror, physical pain and scars of that shooting for the rest of her life. I’ll say it again – put the guns down. They ruin too many lives.”
Sentencing for Clark is scheduled for May 7. He faces up to 50 years in prison for the attempted murder charge.
