Lane closures near Jackson Airport start soon

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – There will be temporary lane closures on Old Brandon Road near the Jackson Airport, starting this weekend.

According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), the westbound Old Brandon Road approach to the airport roundabout in Rankin County will be closed from 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 21 to 6:00 a.m. on Monday, March 24.

During the work, the right lane of the State Route 475 ramp to Old Brandon Road will also temporarily close.

MDOT officials said westbound traffic on Old Brandon Road will not have access to the roundabout and must use an alternate route. All other approaches will remain open, allowing access to and from the airport.

The roundabout improvements include geometric changes to allow for safer and smoother traffic flow.
