Kentucky teacher, coach arrested on child sex crime charges

CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WOWK) – A Kentucky teacher and coach was arrested on child sex crime charges on Wednesday.

According to the Kentucky State Police, 28-year-old Harlee Estepp is accused of “inappropriate communications with a minor.”

The investigation into Estepp started in 2022, state police said.

Ashland Independent Schools Superintendent Sean Howard told Nexstar’s WOWK he was a teacher, track and field coach, and assistant football coach. Howard said Estepp has been suspended with pay.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

Authorities said Estepp’s “interactions” happened before starting his current job.

He is facing charges of first-degree sexual abuse and procuring or promoting the use of a minor through electronic means.

Estepp is being held in the Carter County Detention Center.
