Freeport Police investigate after woman found dead inside Chicago Ave. home

FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — A death investigation is underway in Freeport after a woman was found dead inside a S. Chicago Avenue home Wednesday afternoon.

Freeport Police officers were called to the residence in the 1600 block of S. Chicago Avenue around 2:45 p.m. after a 9-1-1 caller discovered the woman. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene. She has not been publicly identified.

Detectives with the Freeport Police Department and the Stephenson County Coroner have not said how the woman died, but said no foul play is suspected.
