Woman arrested in Freeport drug raid; cocaine and marijuana found at the scene

FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — Police in Freeport have arrested 40-year-old Tanya McWethy as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

According to Freeport Police, the Illinois State Police Stateline Area Narcotics Team (SLANT) and Freeport officers raided a home in the 200 block of W. Empire Street at 6:20 a.m. Friday.

McWethy was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver cannabis after 54 grams of cocaine and 184 grams of cannabis were found inside the residence, police said.

She was taken to the Stephenson County Jail and held pending the outcome of a pretrial detention hearing.
