Colder and windy today, Red Flag Warning in effect

Much colder and windy weather has arrived in Acadiana on this first day of Spring. Temperatures are feeling like the upper 30s to lower 40s to start the day. Highs will only reach the upper 60s under mostly sunny skies. Northerly winds should stay strong throughout the day as they could gust over 30 mph at times. Calmer winds and clear skies will lead to lows tonight into the upper 30s with patchy frost possible.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect as there is an increased fire risk. Wildfires and brushfires could spread rapidly today. Avoid any burning if possible.
