Security cameras captured the incident both inside and outside the Smoke Shop at 705 Baltimore Avenue when the shop was about to close around midnight. Inside the store, it shows a man walking up to the counter where an employee is behind. Police said the man demanded cash from the register, but the employee refused.
Police also released footage from the outside of the shop that shows the suspect fire two shots into the storefront window. Two bullets shattered the window and hit a door towards the back of the shop. Police said the employee was unharmed. Police said the man then ran away from the area.
While the shooter was covered in winter wear, dressed in dark clothes and wearing a mask, police are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant. Kevin Myers at tips@elpd.org or call 610-259-2308.
