Rockford man arrested for home invasion, weapon discharge, and child risk

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rockford man wanted for firing a weapon and child endangerment during a home invasion late Tuesday has been arrested.

According to the Rockford Police Department, officers were called to a home in the 3300 block of Searles Avenue around 11:40 p.m.

The suspect, Delano Hoskins, 33, was located a short time later in the 1800 block of Remington Road.

He was apprehended by members of the Specialized Community Oriented Policing Enforcement (SCOPE) team, who also reported finding two loaded guns — one with a defaced serial number and extended magazine — along with 67 grams of cannabis and cash in the arrest.

Hoskins faces charges of Home Invasion, Domestic Battery, five counts of Child Endangerment, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Discharge of a Weapon, Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, Armed Violence, Possession with Intent to Deliver Cannabis, and No Valid Firearm Owner’s Identification.

He was booked into the Winnebago County Jail awaiting the outcome of a pretrial detention hearing.
