NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS)—With International Paper’s closure, the Louisiana Workforce Commission is stepping in to help the displaced.

The Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Rapid Response Team has stepped in to help those workers who lose their jobs due to mass layoffs.

The Rapid Response Team assists with a variety of services and needs free of charge:

  • On-Site Worker Transition Centers
  • Employee Orientation Meetings
  • Job Search and Placement Assistance
  • Job Search Workshops
    • Job Counseling
    • Résumé Preparation Assistance
    • Interviewing Techniques
    • Labor Market Information
    • Stress Management
  • Information and Referral Services
    • Veterans Assistance
    • Remedial Education
    • Occupational Retraining
    • On-the-Job Training
    • Relocation Assistance
    • Trade Adjustment Assistance
    • Unemployment Insurance
  • Referrals to “Other” Support Services as needed
    • Crisis Counselling
    • Financial Management Debt Counselling

Onsite reemployment events will occur at the Natchitoches American Job Center at 303 Bienville Street in Natchitoches, LA.

  • March 18-20, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • March 25-2, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Previous reemployment events occurred in February in Natchitoches and Campti via the Louisiana Workforce Commission‘s Rapid Response Team mobile workforce center.
