Louisiana tax preparer violates court order; forced to pay $68K to US government

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Louisiana tax preparer faces contempt of court and forces her to repay the United States government.

A federal court found Whylithia Robinson in contempt of court for violating an injunction prohibiting her and her business, AAA Tax Service LLC, from preparing or assisting with federal tax returns. She has reportedly continued to prepare over 200 tax returns, causing her to repay $68,100 to the U.S. government.

In 2023, Robinson was accused of filing tax returns that understated customers’ tax liabilities and overstated tax refunds. The overstated tax refunds include fabricating business losses, claiming false charitable donations and falsely claiming customer education credits. Robinson completed 2,629 tax returns between 2019 and 2021.
