Tanakous Onezine, 37, of Lafayette, is charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs and one count each of illegal carrying of a weapon and transactions involving proceeds from drugs.
Detectives with the Lafayette Police Narcotics Division executed a search warrant Monday afternoon for a home on Louisiana Avenue following an ongoing narcotics investigation. Onezine was was wanted on an active arrest warrant for distribution of Schedule I (MDMA), officials said.
The search of the residence yielded 856 pressed pills that field-tested positive for fentanyl, a 9mm pistol with a magazine containing 11 rounds of ammunition and $2,590 in cash, authorities said. The estimated street value of the seized fentanyl is $68,000.
Onezine was booked into the Lafayette Parish jail on a total bond of $330,000.
