Centenary’s Art Stroll: Explore campus art and performances

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Centenary College’s “Art Stroll” will feature an interactive art experience that takes guests on a journey through campus art.

According to a press release, the Art Stroll explores the heart of Centenary campus’ creatives by sharing visual arts, poetry readings, music, and theatre performances with visitors. Participants will take a leisurely stroll through various campus locations and be treated to a unique artistic experience at each stop.

“The arts at Centenary have provided a rich tapestry of experiences throughout the College’s history, and I can think of few better ways to celebrate a happy 200th birthday than with a stroll across campus among the many artistic treasures we have planned,” said Dr. Cory Wikan, dean of the Hurley School of Music and associate provost.

“From visual art and creative writing to sneak peeks at upcoming music and theatre performances, the evening will culminate with an exciting surprise in the center of campus. It’s really an occasion not to be missed.”

The Art Stroll will take place on Thursday, April 3, from 6 to 8 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. at Centenary’s Meadows Museum of Art, 2911 Centenary Blvd in Shreveport.

Those interested in attending should RSVP to Murdis Dodd at mdodd@centenary.edu or call 318-869-5027. Light refreshments will be provided.
