AKC: Frenchie remains Chicago’s top dog breed, top 5 released

CHICAGO — The French Bulldog remains Chicago’s top purebred dog in the city, according to the American Kennel Club.

For the sixth year in a row, the French Bulldog took home Chicago’s top spot in the American Kennel Club’s 2024 ranking.

The top five for Chicago is below.

  • 1. French Bulldog
  • 2. Golden Retriever
  • 3. Bulldog
  • 4. Labrador Retriever
  • 5. German Shepherd

The top 10 breeds in 2024 for the U.S. is below.
