Deputies say just after 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, they responded to the 35700 block of Highway 190 in Springville for a possible domestic dispute.
Officials say upon arrival, they learned that around 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, a man entered a reporting party’s home and began to physically assault his ex-girlfriend. The reporting party had attempted to intervene but was threatened with being stabbed.
Tulare County Sheriff’s Office says during the altercation, the suspect, 49-year-old Steve Almanza of Tulare, forced the victim to leave with him.
Deputies say that even though the incident had happened earlier that evening, the event didn’t get reported to them until after midnight.
This case is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office at (559)733-6218 or anonymously through the Sheriff’s TipNow Program at (559)725-4194 or tcso@tipnow.com.
