Shreveport Fire Engine 4 was the first fire engine on scene, and heavy smoke was reported from the front of the apartment building.
According to the news release, the Shreveport firefighters could access the building through a front door to locate and extinguish the fire. The building was vacant and had no occupants at the time of the fire.
They reported that it took the efforts of 26 firefighters — 13 fire units, just minutes to bring this blaze under control.
One firefighter was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries for further
evaluation.
The last reported fire at the Villa Norte Apartments was in November 2023. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
