SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport Fire Department’s Aviation Task Force conducted their five exercises last week at the local regional airport.

Last week, SFD Aviation Task Force firefighters trained on a variety of aircraft fire and rescue operations including: jet engine fires, fuel spill fires, interior cabin fires, and search and rescue.

The Shreveport Fire Department assures passengers and flight crews traveling into and out of the Shreveport Regional Airport that

help is just seconds away in an aviation emergency.

SFD’s 63-member Aviation Task Force is trained to meet Federal Aviation Administration and National Fire Protection Association standards, ensuring they are always ready to respond to aircraft incidents.

“The SFD’s Aviation Task Force is committed to the safety of all passengers traveling through Shreveport Regional Airport,” stated SFD.
