TEXARKANA, Ark. (KTAL/KMSS) – A multi-agency task force outlined how a series of tips throughout an ongoing investigation led to a methamphetamine delivery from the west coast being intercepted by law enforcement.

The 8th South Drug Task Force was informed on February 8, 2025 that a shipment of meth was expected to be brought into the community from California. They partnered with the 8th North DTF, 9th West DTF and the local Federal Bureau of Investigation Office to conduct a multi-day operation to intercept the shipment.

The delivery location was identified on March 5, 2025. After the delivery, the aforementioned task forces, along with the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant on Prince Thomas’s residence in Hope, Arkansas.

During the search investigators seized 12 pounds of meth.

On March, 11, 2025, further investigation led to the discovery of another suspected shipment of meth headed for the Texarkana area.

The joint operation led to the seizure of the narcotics before they posed a threat of overdoses, violence, and death to the community; leading to the recovery of three pounds of meth and $2310 in narcotics proceeds. Anthony Thomas of Hope was arrested.

TAPD said its departments and the members of the joint task force are committed to their support of these task forces to keep the community safe and rid them of illegal narcotics.
