On Friday, the Modesto Police officers announced 12 people were identified during an undercover chatting operation as suspects who sent explicit images, videos and messages to that they believed were minors.
Police say several of these suspects arranged in-person meetings with “the intent to commit sexual acts.”
Among those 12, officers say James Ziarko, 46, of Fresno and Dustin Mathewson, 31, of Merced, were arrested after being caught sending “harmful material to a minor and attempted to engage in lewd communication.” Ziarko was arrested in August 2024, and Mathewson was arrested in June 2024.
